WHEN SHOULD YOU REPLACE A PUNCTURED TYRE?

Most tread punctures can be repaired safely to BS AU 159. Sometimes a replacement is safer — here’s how to tell.

**Replace the tyre if any of these apply**
• Damage is on the sidewall or shoulder
• Hole/tear is larger than ~6mm
• Bead damage, bulge or exposed cords
• Run-flat or driven very low for a distance
• Multiple punctures close together or overlapping an old repair
• Tread below legal limit (1.6mm) or manufacturer guidance

**Good news — often repairable**
• Nail/screw in the tread’s central repairable zone
• Small hole with no internal heat damage
• No previous repair nearby

We’ll confirm on arrival after an internal inspection. If a repair isn’t safe, we carry budget, mid-range and premium tyres and can supply & fit on the spot — then balance the wheel so you’re ready to go.
