Steering wheel shaking between 50 and 70 mph? Vibration through the seat or floor? That's almost always wheel imbalance — and our mobile wheel balancing service fixes it at your home or workplace, anywhere in West Yorkshire.
Wheel balancing is FREE with every tyre we fit. Balancing-only visits are priced per wheel — call 07375 249399 for a quick quote.
Signs your wheels need balancing
- Steering wheel vibration at motorway speeds (typically 50–70 mph)
- Vibration felt through the seat or floor — often rear wheels
- Uneven or patchy tyre wear, especially cupping
- Vibration that appeared after a kerb strike, pothole hit or new tyre fitting elsewhere
Left alone, imbalance accelerates tyre wear, strains suspension components and tires you out on long drives. It's a quick, inexpensive fix.
How we balance on site
Our van carries a calibrated spin balancer. We remove each wheel, spin it to measure imbalance precisely, fit stick-on or clip-on weights as appropriate for your rims, then spin again to verify a clean result before refitting and torque-checking. Alloy-friendly adhesive weights keep things tidy on diamond-cut and painted rims.
Balancing, alignment or something else?
Balancing fixes vibration; it doesn't fix a car that pulls to one side — that's usually wheel alignment, and a steering shake under braking points to discs. If we find your symptoms aren't balance-related we'll tell you straight rather than charge you for work that won't help. Vibration plus visible damage? It might be a puncture or structural issue — we check the tyre while the wheel is off. We balance wheels across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and the whole region — call 07375 249399.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is wheel balancing really free with a new tyre?
Yes — every tyre we fit is spin-balanced on site at no extra charge. That's standard on every job, not a promotion.
How long does mobile wheel balancing take?
Around 10–15 minutes per wheel including removal, balancing and refitting with a torque check. A full set is usually under an hour.
Will balancing stop my car pulling to one side?
No — pulling is usually an alignment issue. Balancing cures speed-related vibration. We'll diagnose honestly and point you the right way.
